I've seen a few references to a 'Fob' or Remote for the above. Did all Copens come with them or just certain years/models? I bought a 2004 last month but there was no mention of a remote from the seller, I just thought that central locking system worked off the drivers door lock.... Any info out there guys...?
I would suggest trying to buy a remote from a Copen being Broken. Then get it matched to your car. https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=1119&highlight=remote Two Copens being broken through here: http://www.partshark.co.uk/used-car-parts-breaking-vehicles/daihatsu/copen
Or you can buy this: http://www.kiessetz-und-schmidt.de/...ary_hand_transmitter_various_models.php&v=623 Looks just like my remotes.
Just to round off the thread.. I couldn't find one via a breaker but these guys have four, well three now as I've bought one...same place flogging the new 660 engines. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/impartsb46?ssPageName=ADME:X:CEM:GB:1181
Hi! I bought a remote myself from impartsb after I found the sincronyzing procedure in the manual (Chassis manual; section I04; page 15). It works just fine! I just had to wait until the car was serviced not to loose any error codes, before the battery was disconnected. Luis
ooh just read this, i have two keys and one fob on the copen i just bought. Do you recon i could get another coded at say a toyota dealer? Or try the Daihatsu dealer that is no longer daihatsu?
You could buy another Fob form the ebay seller impartsb46, like Coolcarbon did & then use the sync method to link it to your Copen. You don't need to go to a dealer. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/impartsb46 https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=1119&highlight=remote
