Good evening to all Copen fans. Hope all is well? Not long after I bought my silver Copen RK06 BZN last year and named him Buzz, I thought that it would be a good idea to give him an appropriate registration number when I could afford it. So, a couple of months ago, I treated the little chap to a new identity, and I've now fitted the new number plates KK, a perfect prefix for any enthusiastic Kei Kar 06, which is when he was born in the UK BUZ, speaks for itself I hope that you like the idea, and I'd love to hear your comments and opinions. Cheers! PhillandLin and Buzz
Good evening to all Copen fans! Hope all is good with you? You may have seen an unusual item on Ebay recently. Described as a pair of genuine Daihatsu Copen front number plate brackets, part number DACC3055NVP. As I was changing Buzz's number plates anyway, and the cost was only £3.40 per pair, I thought I would buy a pair and give them a try. I've attached a couple of photos of the finished job. I'd love to know if you think they're a hit or a miss Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Cheers! PhillandLin and Buzz.
whats the point of them? besides the obvious to hold the plate on which is no problem I've found with the standard fixing. if they are for a Copen, why does the bottom overhand and not be fixed to anything?
Good evening Trustafox! A pleasure to hear from you as usual. Errrr! I don't really know the purpose if the truth be known, and I agree, the lower part of the bracket is not attached to the car. They are clearly described as Daihatsu Copen genuine front number plate brackets, so I thought I'd see what they were all about. A bit strange don't you think? Unless I'm being a total idiot and I've fitted them incorrectly? They only have one predrilled 7mm hole which is bolted to the number plate surface moulded into the front bumper. PhillandLin and Buzz.
The rear ones are angled (sort of have 1 leg shorter than the other) to make the plate more vertical. If anyone has a spare set of rear brackets I'd be interested as 1 of mine is broken. For the front I got a mounting plate (hopefully I've attached a photo of it to this post). A bit like this one http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfo...chbrook-number-plate-surround-stainless-steel and I expect you can get them for the squarer style plates too.
Good morning to you Trustafox and Binz. Thanks for your comments on this. Great minds think alike Trustafox. I have already used them on the rear of Buzz, and I think that they make a great difference to the look. Be sure to take a look when we meet up next Sunday. However, they were described as front number plate brackets, so I thought I'd give them a try on the front. This has obviously failed, so I've just taken them off Buzz I'll refit the front plate with adhesive strips later this afternoon. Cheers! PhillandLin and Buzz.
Hello there Princess. Thanks very much for your reply. Yes, I got the message thanks very much. I really appreciate your help I've spoken to Andy, what a really nice chap! Anyway, Buzz is booked in for surgery during the week after the KKITP meeting. He's a bit nervous but I know that it'll be well worth it in the end We're really looking forward to meeting up with you next weekend, so we'll catch up then. Thanks agin! PhillandLin and Buzz.
