Hi guy ive just been wondering what the problem with my 1.3 copen could be, when I reverse and break it makes a horrible noise, sorta like a screech or a grind. Either way if you have any mechanical sympathy you will cringe, all help is most appreciated

Either poorly adjust drums or worn front pads

When I bought the car only a few months ago, everything was fine, its only recently. Plus when going forwards and breaking there is no noise at all.

Used to have a White Copen, but I sold it in 2023
Just check your brakes, how hard can it be? It is pretty much the only component that might pose a problem :D

Sounds like the drum brakes in the rear - my money is one the shoes having worn

I would guess at rear shoes also. Particularly as the shoes will tend to pick up in one direction and not the other when worn.
