Hi all got a new copen 1.3 in 08 , but insurance co churchill, want thatcham approved alarm/ imobiliser fitted ,any tips best way forward, ? thanks, barry.
Yes, get rid of Churchill. Either that or fit the Alarm, but I know what I'd do. I've got the same car, a 1.3 08 and my insurers swift cover didn't ask for anything like that. My policy fully comp was £190 or there abouts they are cheap but it's all Internet based. Give them a try or get on Go- compare. Welcome to Copenworld as well Barry.
Direct line will not insure for theft without a thatcham approved alarm either, they would not cover my car until they received the certificate provided when the alarm was fitted by the first owner, luckily I found it in the paperwork. I wouldn't mind but their quote wasn't even particularly cheap i will be insuring with someone else next time.
My wife and daughter are both insured with Diamond which I think is female only drivers. No other company could touch Diamond on price for the two of them on two completely different cars. Give them a try when the time comes.
Peter Best insurances Give these guys a try if your car is 10 years or older it would fall into the modern classic policy and the premiums are unbelievably good ,if newer still they are one of the most competive and dont have any strings attached oue policy is well below the 200 pounds mark
Direct Line here too and as mentioned a PITA (but actually cheaper than comparison sites, maybe because we had other insurance with them). Took 3 weeks of calls before DL agreed (stuck with it as it was change of current policy rather than taking out new). Plus side is it all went sweetly when i was in prang last year and needed to claim, which hasnt been the case with a cheaper insurer years ago. but will probably look at alternatives again at renewal time.
insurance done Thanks All staying with saga, they priced matched swift cover £270 instead of £400 ,so kept away from churchill and alarm--probs .whilst posting we get loud rattle just behind drivers ear,we did take back u/G once, but made no difference so have always lived with it.is it an easy fix??. thanks Barry.
It might be the rear parcel shelf others on here have had problems with the shelf rattling. Do a search of the posts for a fix, trustafox has even posted a video.
