Hi just bought a used Copen from local Toyota garage and when I picked it up they found the aircon didn't work. They are not sure what is wrong but have agreed to put it right, need to speak to Daihatsu specialist. Just wondered if this was a known problem with an quick fix or if I'm likely to have to leave the car with them for a few days.
    Any advise appreciated.

I've never heard or read of any problems with the Copen aircon.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but are you sure you're operating it properly?

Anyway, please let us know what the problem turns out to be. I hope it's an easy fix. These are generally very reliable cars.

I always welcome stating the obvious as it quite often provides the answer. I just set the temperature dial to cool set the fan to 1 or 2 and pressed the AC button. The green indicator light comes on but no cool air.

Air Con now fixed under warranty. The compressor was seized up, probably due to lack of use and had to be replaced. Apparently it is very difficult to get at without removing the whole front bumper unit so the combined parts and labour would have cost £1200. Thank God for warranties.

The garage told me to make sure I run the air con for a few minutes every couple of weeks to keep it lubricated.

I now have a car that's cool inside and out. :)

    That's good news.

Now I'm off to run my aircon for a few minutes.:)
