Hi everyone, first time poster, long time viewer. Unfortunately I've decided that I can no longer pretend to myself that this car is practical for my lifestyle (2 young kids!) and it's time to get something a little more sensible i.e. with a back seat. I bought this car 2.5 years ago and have been using it daily since then. It is taxed up till March 2014 and MOT'd until 25th October 2014. It has done just under 55,000 miles as of 11/3/14 however this will change as I will use it up until it sells. Being a 10 year old car it is obviously not in perfect condition. There is some rust on the passenger side rear wheel arch which, as I'm sure you'll know, is a common problem with these, and as of 2 weeks ago the remote central locking has ceased to work on the doors (they can still be opened with the key), although it still opens the boot. Everything else is in fine working order. All 4 tyres were changed last year and I put a stainless steel exhaust on around a year and a half ago which comes with a lifetime guarantee. I haven't yet advertised this on ebay/autotrader/gumtree as I wanted to give those on this forum first chance. Please feel free to get in touch if you're interested and I can send you some photos or answer any questions you may have, I'd be happy to help. I'm looking for around £2,500 which I feel is a fair price. I live in Ayrshire and work in Glasgow area Monday to Friday so car could be brought to Glasgow for a look if its more convenient. Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully I'll hear from some of you soon. Jonathan
Good luck with the sale, with regards to your central locking: https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=2239&highlight=central+locking
Hi Adam, Thanks for the reply and tip, that seems to be the problem! I actually trawled through the site a couple of weeks ago looking for an answer to this problem but must of missed that thread. Do you know what the best way to resolve it is then? I'm not sure I understand what Humblehog did. Thanks again.
One of the switches that controls the inside lights will not be working properly. If you remove the rubber cap from the switch (which is on the doorframe) you will find a white plastic shaft inside. What you have to do is lengthen that shaft a little. You can either glue a small button on (like Humblehog did) or drill a small hole and screw in a small screw, which is what I did. Once the switch is lengthened, the light should go on and off properly and, more important, the remote locking should be miraculously restored! Good luck!
