Hello everyone, very nice forum you have here, I joined to try and learn a bit more about the little Copen.

I currently have a Suzuki cappuccino as my 2nd car, for fun and sunny weekends and run a thirsty 2litre petrol saloon as a daily driver. The daily has served me well but I was starting to think about looking for an economical car, we have an Aygo in the house but I find it quite dull and want something that puts a smile on my face when I get in.

I've seen 2 copens in my area, they live across the street from each other which is odd for quite a rare car and I often see a silver one parked in Carnoustie when visiting family.

    Thanks for reading

    Fuzz :)

    HI Fuzz, Welcome to Copenworld.
I'm an ex-Cappuccino owner myself (great car). Moved onto the Copen, trading my Cappuccino in for it before it rusted away.

Unless you import from Japan, the newest UK registered Copen would be a 2009.

about 5 were registered in 2010. no they may still carry the 59 plate. unless being on a 59 plate means its gets counted in 2009.

    Anyone seen a xx10 xxx

Maybe good news, I'm off to Peterborough in the morning to hopefully pick up a copen I have arranged to buy via eBay.

My cappuccino failed its mot for a rusty floor so it's off the road just now getting full new floors welded in and a respray so won't be on the road until march at least. I'm hoping the Copen will be a fun replacement in the meantime.

Wish me luck for tomorrow, I'm taking my breakdown card just incase as it's a 6 hour journey home :)

Thanks Adam, I'm pretty excited, I've never driven one before but did spot a silver 59 plate on the way home from the Lake District on Sunday which I took as an omen :)

Good luck. I was about 9hrs from traffic ingested South London to Sunny Fife. You'll be cursing the reach-around position of the cup holder after that journey.... ;)

Well I got a flight from Edinburgh to London stansted, train to Peterborough, then a taxi from the train station to the sellers work. Left for the airport at 0530hrs and was home for 1615hrs, not bad for over 365 miles of driving home.

Chuffed to bits with the car, got it cheap and it needs a service and an mot next month so a few niggles to iron out but the price reflected this so I'm happy.

Can't believe how cool the roof is and it's got heated seats! What well spec'd little cars!

My next job is to give the car a full service, it's full diahatsu history to 2012 but was not serviced this year.

Any tips on where the best place to buy service parts? Will also have a search on the forum,

    Thanks :)

Quick update to say I've now ordered oil, oil filter, sump washer, sump plug, new air filter, new plugs and a few other little bits. Hoping to get a service done at the weekend.

Also over the moon to report I put the car in for an mot last week and it passed first time, it got an advisory for a chip in the windscreen so I'm really chuffed with that and think the short mot was a big reason I got the car for a good price.
Whilst it was up on the ramps I had a poke under it and was please to see it had been waxoiled by the first owner so is all very solid which is nice when I'm used to the cappuccino :)

Took my alloys off and dropped them off with the powdercoater yesterday and they were collected and put back on tonight but it's too dark for pics, reply happy with them and will hopefully get some pics at the weekend :)
