Daihatsu Considers Introducing Brake Override System

    In the wake of the massive Toyota recall, Daihatsu is believed to be one of a number of Japanese car makers considering introducing a brake override system on some new cars.

    This would mean that the driver could still effectively brake, even if the accelerator pedal is caught in the floor mat.

    This could increase the cost of new vehicles, but it seems like a small price to pay for improved safety.

    Has anyone experianced this accelerater/Brake problem with a Copen?
    I`ve avoided using extra floor mats on the drivers side because they tend to work there way up around my foot controls and get snagged. :eek:
    It`s extra housework in the car but it`s safer IMHO.:)
