I would do threepots acid test and ask to see the old turbo just incase they have sold you a recon at the price of a new unit.
Got it back. Good news - definitely have turbo. Bad news - seems to have very little boost. Struggle to get to 60..and at 70 in 5th when I accelerate there's nothing...and up a hill even in 3rd it struggles.... Any suggestions?
Take it back to the dealership and get them to fix it! Don't drive it, it could be running lean or something due to not having the map sensor or something plumbed up properly.
All fixed - pipe had popped off. No charge! What an amazing little car. I've been and driven him this afternoon and jetwashed him down. A few bits of paint needed but nothing major and no rust. The roof dosen't leak either although it is rattly when up...will look to adjust it when I get time. All 4 wheels are wrecked, but do have brand new matching tyres all round. I think that will be the first job when funds permit. Need to fit my DAB aerial and USB cable to the stereo too. Love it!!
